A few words from the Founder
Thank you for taking the time to learn about Active Leaders of Love (ALL).
ALL was inspired by a question that continues to guide our work: What happens when people are willing and able to contribute to their communities, but face barriers that prevent them from fully participating?
My experiences navigating moments of exclusion, stigma, and disconnection shaped my understanding of how barriers can influence people’s ability to be heard, included, and meaningfully engaged in the communities around them. Through my background in communications and community leadership, I became increasingly interested in how we can strengthen the relationship between people, systems, and communities, creating more opportunities for individuals to positive change.
I have always believed that words carry power. The language we choose shapes how we understand challenges, recognize possibilities, and imagine the future we want to build. One idea that has shaped my perspective is the word “utopia.” Often viewed as unrealistic, I see it as an invitation to imagine better possibilities and take intentional steps toward creating more inclusive communities.
At Active Leaders of Love, this philosophy guides how we approach community initiatives, advocacy, and engagement. Through our work, we aim to create pathways for people to build knowledge, confidence, and connections that support meaningful participation in their communities.
Our CARE framework (Connect, Awareness, Readiness, and Engage) reflects this approach by guiding how we create opportunities for people to take action.
At its core, Active Leaders of Love is about transforming ideas into action and creating communities where people feel empowered to participate, and help shape the future around them.
